Guess what I have been up to?
Becoming a scholar :P
Finally, I am blogging again after 3 weeks of disappearing. Beginning this year, you can see that I have not been passionately writing stuffs on my page anymore. Don’t ask me why. I don’t even know the reasons too. Blame it on my laziness and busyness. I am pretty sure that no one is reading my blog already except for my family. You must be pretty frustrated as each time you click starupurlife, it shows the same old boring post again.
Ok, I have been very busy. Not only 1 but 5 crazy assignments all due at the same time plus a 30% test. Thank god that everything is over now! I am done with semester 1 and will be quite free for a couple of weeks. Haha…Proud to announce that I DO NOT HAVE FINAL EXAMS! Laughing my head off now as exams for most universities in Australia begin next week. Wooohoot! I don’t need to study and suffer the exam fever which hits every student now.
By the way, I met my supervisor today. He is the head of the school and seems to be nice and jovial. But indeed a very busy man. Fingers crossed that my research will go smoothly under his supervision as I am aiming for first class honours.
No more stories about my personal life. It gets pretty boring and repetitive. The good news is, I am going to transform this blog into a fashion, food and creative design website. Wait for my new updates, ya. Tah! :)

A poem specially dedicated to you :)
If I could give you diamonds
for each tear you cried for me.
If I could give you sapphires
for each truth you’ve helped me see.
If I could give you rubies
for the heartache that you’ve known
If I could give you pearls
for the wisdom that you’ve shown.
Then you’ll have a treasure, mother, that would mount up to the skies
That would almost match
the sparkle in your kind and loving eyes.
But I have no pearls, no diamonds,
As I’m sure you’re well aware
So I’ll give you gifts more precious
My devotion, love and care.
Love you lots,
Happy Mother’s Day!
xoxo
To the most beautiful woman in the world,
Over the years, I've watched the wonderful ways you've made life special for our family. The moments of love and kindness, the traditions and memories that I'll always remember and carry with me throughout my lives. But most of all I've watched the way you've shown me the true meaning of love in everything you do.
Thanks for everything! I do not take the time to say I appreciate all you do. So a very Happy Birthday, Mummy! And lots of love to you!
Hugs and kisses,
Shir Li
So proud to have you as my Mum.
xoxo
I haven’t been blogging lately and dad was complaining that my blog is utterly boring. Blame on the assignmentS and my emo mood after coming back from Brisbane :D
Mum and Dad, this post is for you.
Easter break was awesome!! I can say that it is the best holidays that I ever had in Australia. Not that Brisbane is an interesting place to visit (kind of boring) but the people there are FANTABULOUS!
At first, I was quite worried that will I ever mixed well with my sister’s friends. They are so much younger than me and of course you know me, I dislike talking and tend to be very quite at all times (even among my friends too). However, they absolutely proved me wrong! They are such a cool bunch of people. Hehe…crazy and wacko at all times.
I had so much fun hanging out with them from touring around the city, gold coast-ing, uni exploring, yummy food searching, shopping, city cat-ing(thinks of Koo) to potluck dinner :) But, at times, they can be very immature too :P Teehee! I miss them so much especially my little sis.
I flew back to Melbourne with a heavy heart and I was emo-ing for the past few days! Blame the weather in Melbourne too, makes me miss the sunshine state even more. I am totally going to make a second trip back there again this year

In the movie, some parts were very boring and I already knew what was going to happen next. Haha…I was busy explaining to my bf too. The movie left out a lot of parts in the book and they did change the story a bit. Anyway, I LOVE Robert Pattison! He is so HOT! Double Hotness! I think he is totally perfect for the role. Ohh…Carlisle is HOT too!! The rest of the casts for Cullens' family are fine except for Rosalie. In the book, I imagined her to be so much prettier. She looks very average to me.
Jacob Black is ok but he really looks like a werewolf in the movie :P Hehe…he is indeed a werewolf in book 2, 3 & 4. Plus, I love the Cullens' house. Ultimate coolness! Totally different from what I imagined! I thought it was a beautiful old-styled mansion instead it was a super modern bungalow. I can’t wait for the second movie. I want to see more of Edward Cullen :)
I am not going to reveal much here coz mum is reading my blog. Just to mention that when I went to the shop yesterday to get her a mother’s day present, the store assistant told me that “thing” ran out of stock but luckily they will get it for me from another store. Relieved! I am going back to collect it on Monday. Gee, that “thing” must be very popular! I saw it on Oprah. Oprah was saying so many good stuffs about it. I hope that mum likes it.
I miss her so much!

Yeah, my blog is dead again!
And I don’t think that I’m passionate to blog very often nowadays.
Nothing interesting in my life to write about.
Playing games in my Nintendo ds lite is my latest addiction.
For the past few weeks, I have been quite busy writing my research proposal draft and trying to finish two assignments (Research Methods and Accounting Research). Both due on the same date, right after holidays. But no worries! I already completed one.
Anyway, it is great that this year, I have a total of 9 days Easter Break. Relatively a long one but it makes no difference as this semester, I only have 2 days of classes in a week. Everyday seems like a holiday to me :P
Tomorrow, I will be heading to Brisbane to visit my beloved Sis! Staying there for about 6 days and I will be back in Melbourne again on Tuesday evening.
Depending on my mood, I will blog more about the trip. See ya!
Happy Easter and Happy Holidays!
Have a nice break :)
xoxo
My blog is dead but I am still alive. Sad to say that I left my pink page for more than a month due to my laziness and lack of motivation to pen down something! I am pretty sure that you are curious about what’s happening with my life at the moment.
To break the silence, I am currently doing my Honours degree in RMIT University. No longer a Melbourne University student. You must be wondering why? To cut the long story short, I choose to do my Honours in RMIT. Yup, new course, new university, new environment, new subjects, new lectures and totally new friends!
It was quite daunting at first but I am loving every bits of RMIT. Classes are small and the lecturers are very helpful. I am now taking Research Methods, Data analysis and Accounting Theories and Research. Everything seems so new to me. Totally different from what I had learned in my undergraduate degree.
I understand that Honours is going to be very tough and challenging as I will be writing a 15,000 words thesis in my second semester but I definitely have no regrets! To be honest, I am enjoying the interesting research life right now. Plus, I already have my goals set out. After completing Honours, I aim to continue with my studies to the next level, PhD. Dreaming to become a Dr by age 27 :) Hard work and commitment for the next 4 years!
By the way, I finally decided on what my research topic is about. Just had a meeting with my lecturer this morning. Adoption of International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS) by Australia will be my cup of tea. Updating more about it later. Hopefully everything goes well :) Fingers crossed.
On the other hand, Melbourne was hit by EARTHQUAKE twice!!! Not a big deal though. 4.6 and 4.5 on the Richter Magnitude Scale respectively. I am wondering how these can happen. Melbourne is not even in the Pacific Ring of Fire. The world is absolutely going cranky >.<
Apart from all my ramblings,
Dinner with friends
Moomba WaterFest
Lucky. I won another soft toy again this year :)
