I read an article on the magazine that really caught my attention. Whether to engage in a long distance or a short distance relationship? Personally for my opinion, I am not a big fan of long distance relationship. Let me explain to you why.

Long distance relationship can be two sided. Out of sight, out of mind Or is it, Absence makes the heart grow founder? To be honest, when is the last time you heard of a successful long-distance relationship? 1 out of 10. It is not about how long you have to be away studying or working in overseas but one thing that definitely matter the most is commitment and trust. Many people try to give long distance relationship a try but in the end, things just do not work out.

The ultimate difference between a long distance and a short distance relationship is separation. Both will be separated over miles and miles away, and the fact that you cannot touch, see, love and even feel their presence. Although we are living in a modern world, full with technologies that will keep distance apart, but long distance relationship simply just failed because lack of commitment by either one party or both parties. In a normal relationship, if one person starts to lose interest, the other person is able to reignite the love by a simple touch. However, totally a big NO in long distance relationships. Promises had to be made and commitment is very important.

Moreover there is always a sense of insecurity. You might not know what your girl/boy doing right now? Studying, clubbing, eating or flirting? Loneliness dominates long distance relationship too. Because of great distance apart, one might feels lonely, thus seeking solitude from the opposite sex around them. Yes you can talk and write to each other. But even if someone says, I love you over the phone everyday, how are you supposed to actually feel loved?

On special occasion like your birthday, both of you all could not spend time and meet each other except receiving a card with a stamp chop from overseas. Hello girl! Wake up. Is that what you will be expecting for not only months but years to come? Even worse is waiting for the day and learning it was all for nothing. People do change after living in overseas for more than a year. You cannot expect someone to go abroad to study and not return at least a little altered.

By the end of the day, it is all up to you whether to engaged in a long distance or a short distance relationship. Women have the final say in what ever they do.

One of the great things about Malaysia is that it is a very rich multi-racial and multi-cultural nation that is able to exist in relative harmony.

Each time the festive season comes along, be it Christmas, Hari Raya, Deepavali or Chinese New Year, i am reminded of this fact. I am a lucky person to be living in this country. The best part of all is lots of celebrations, visiting friends and reletives, great food and of course, get to collect some money too. Boy! I am definitely going to miss all this when i am studying in Australia next year.

By the way, wishing all my indian and malay friends: Happy Deepavali and Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! Hehe, do not forget to bring me some muruku and raya kuih =) In summary,
    Happy DeepaRaya!

I just love 31st October. Want to know why? I am definitely a big fan of supernatural. Halloween is all about ghosts, witches, vampires, monsters, warlocks and many more scary creatures in the underworld. Moreover it is an annual celebration in most of the western countries but sadly not in Malaysia. Since this dark day is just around the corner, many of us, Malaysians still do not know the origin of Halloween. In this post, I would like to share with you guys simply the story and history of Halloween

    The Story of Halloween
The story of Halloween goes back over 2000 years to the ancient Celts. Druidic priests regarded the day as the end of the year. Not only was it their day for celebrating the year's harvest, but October 31 itself was also the day of Samhain, a festival for honouring the dead. In order to appease the wandering spirits they believed roamed at night, the Celtic priests made fires in which they burned sacrifices, made charms, and cast spells.

Portions of the Celtic holiday of the dead eventually passed into Christian culture after the Romans conquered the Celts and tried to bring the Celts into the "Christian fold." It eventually became apparent to the church leaders that the Celts, in spite of their conformation to some aspects of Christian culture, were stubbornly sticking with elements of their old religion.

So, in the seventh century AD, the church moved its All Saints' Day, a holiday for honouring early Christian martyrs, from a day in May to November 1, thus associating it with the old Druid death rituals of October 31. By the tenth century A.D., the Catholic Church had added a new holiday, All Souls' Day. This day was set aside to honour all of the dead, not just the early Christian Saints.

Celebration of Halloween came to America with early Irish and Scottish immigrants. By then, though, it had already started to lose its mysterious overtones and was becoming merely a harvest celebration: a night of bobbing for apples, eating popcorn, and telling ghost stories around a bonfire. It was already changing into the holiday for children with which we in the 20th century are so familiar.

To spice up your Halloween day, here are some scary vampire jokes that I found on the net: http://www.theholidayspot.com/halloween/. Hope you have a fun time reading it. Enjoy! =)

Why did the vampire go to the orthodontist?
    To improve his bite.
What is a vampire's favorite sport?
    Casketball.
What is a vampire's favorite holiday?
    Fangsgiving.
What is a vampire's favorite mode of transportation?
    A blood vessel.
What type of dog do vampire's like the best?
    Bloodhounds.
What does a vampire never order at a restaurant?
    A stake sandwich.
    Why do vampires need mouthwash?
    They have bat breath.
    What's a vampire's favorite fast food?
A guy with very high blood pressure.
Why did the Vampire subscribe to the Wall Street Journal?
He heard it had great circulation.

By pumpkins fat and witches lean,
    By coal black cats with
    eyes of green,
By all the magic ever seen,
    I wish you luck this
    Halloween.

    Happy Halloween!

As the saying goes Life is not a bed of roses. The outside world might see me as wonderful, cheerful and simple girl next door. However you are wrong. It is totally an illusion. My life is real complicated. I had been crying and wondering why all those bad and evil people kept ill-treating and always picked on me.

Since primary school, I had only a few friends. Everyone in my class thought that I was weird. I had been isolated just because I was different. My girl friends even bullied and called me all types of names. Since then I became very quiet and preferred to keep a very low profile on myself.

In secondary school, my good friend betrayed me. The whole gang of girls launched a boycott campaign me and they even did something really messy, making me the laughing stock of my class. I had been crying a lot. I was wondering why all these things happened to me? In form 4, one of my classmates spread bad rumors about me and a boy. Just a few second, the rumors spread like wild fire and practically most of the schools in Malacca knew about it. Why cannot they leave me alone?

Again in college, I was trying my very best to help my friends and again people talked bad things about me. Not only did that, opposite sex too played with my feelings.

After all these years, I did learn something very valuable. From now onwards I promised not be too nice and naive.

Great! Yesterday I had my very first Malaysian Studies test. My brain definitely did a mental block after 5 months of hibernating. Can you believe it? I, myself also could not believe it.

Ok, I did study, maybe a little but I definitely took malaysian studies for granted. I thought everything we learnt in sejarah was excatly the same except now in english. However I was wrong.

When the lecturer passed us the test paper, all I did was just stared at it for about 5 minutes. The words looked so alien and werid. I thought that I was going to burn my 20%. What a big mental block!

A test is definitely a test. Trying my very best, luckily I managed to do that particular paper but of course I did tikam a few questions. Hehe, could not help it coz 15 questions were all mcq =)

    What a Malaysian Studies Test!

As usual my friend and I had our dinner at 1-Utama on monday.

And definitely it was so unlucky for us to dine in Pizza Hut. Ok, i know that now is the fasting month for the malays but that does not make any difference. Work is definitely work. First when we went into the restaurant, the malay waitress gave a nasty look and reluctantly passed us the menu. Not only that, when we called her to take our order, all she did was ignored us. Can you believe it, even the supervisor too?

We waited for more than 5 minutes and only she came to our service. And we waited very long too for just one stupid pizza. To add up the climax, while we were enjoying our meal, she got the guts to tell us that- cepat makan, kita reserved tempat awak untuk buka puasa (can u quickly finish your meal? we reserved this place for the malays to break their fast)

What the heck? My temperature level definitely shot up. How can they chased us out while we were having our dinner? Not even halfway through. I can see that there are still places available in the restaurant. Moreover we as a customer had the ultimate right to stay there as long as we desire. Now i am thinking, why are paying the 10% service charge?

Pizza Hut just wants to have more customers but instead they loose two already. This is what we call MalaySian!

What do you think of this new feature in friendster? Cool? Great? Bad? I was hoping that one day friendster would come up with this-who view my profile? And taadaaahh! My wish actually came true. Personally I love but hate it.

Love: It is sooo cool that you would know excatly who view your profile from strangers to your close friends who make the numbers in your-profile-has-been-viewed box goes up and up.You also get to expand and meet more friends. And the best part is that you will know who are noosing around your friendster =)

Hate: Hehe.I do not like this feature too coz I had been doing a lot of spying.Ok, I had to admit, I do check on people profile many times in a day.Hey, what else can you do in friendster apart from messaging and adding friends right? I guess my name will proped out in all your who's view me list. Anyway I grateful that friendster had a solution for this problem.Or else I will definitely be a dead-meat!

In a nutshell: I just love friendster. It's getting better and better.

    Greetings!

KDU Hostel has being my second home for almost 1 year and 2 months. I do not mind if the hostel is situated far from home, far from college and far from civilisation. But there is one thing that I really could not stand! It is the computer lab! Ever wonder why the computer lab is so miserable? Let me proof to you the downside of kdu hostel.

~The internet connection is so bad. A lot of times sever will be down.

~Online period is given until 12am on weekdays and 2am on weekends. Why can they have internet connection for 24 hours? What if emergency and we really need to go online? This had happened to me.

~There are less than 15 computers to cater for 300 residents. Do not dream to get hold of one especially during peak hours.

~If you use your own laptop, you have to bring your own telephone weir. Self service.

~Some computers are not working properly and they are still using the old msn messenger version. No fun chatting.

~No privacy. People will be standing behind you just to wait for you to get up from your chair.

~Mouse theft is so rampant! Seriously, all the balls inside the mouse were stolen. These people are just sick. They stole the mouse ball so that other people would not be able to use the comp. Whenever they feel like going online, they just fix back the mouse and voile do not need to rush.

I just hope that Mr. Ang will do something about it. Anyway I am glad that I will be leaving this place soon. Sayonara!

Bowling? Hmm? I have always wanted to try it but did not have the opportunity. However, last wednesday, Siew Sian, Adrienne, Rita and I went bowling at U-Bowl in One Utama.

Guess what? Actually I was very nervous for being the first timer. First three games my ball went straight into the so called drain. Oh dear! Everyone was looking at me and I am definitely a lousy player. After so many tries, I finally got the grip of the game. My ball did hit the pins and once in a while I did a strike too. Hehe, I was jumping with joy.

But once I really embarrassed myself. Instead of rolling the ball in front, the ball went bouncing backwards. Everyone was like oohoo and laughing at me. What an experience!

In a nutshell, I definitely love bowling and to tell you the truth Siew Sian is very good at it. She finally found her hidden talent! =)

    Boy, I am definitely nervous!

Adrienne and I posing with our winning balls.
